Art Book, “Line and Size”

Both pieces completed on 10/19/14

The first image shows the principle of size. Size is a significant factor when an artist wants to show a comparative element to one of their pieces. With this I wanted to show how we perceive the world. It is the only thing we know, and as we discover more and more about it, it tends to feel smaller and smaller. The Earth isn’t getting any bigger and our population and effect on the world isn’t getting any less significant.

The second piece I created represents the principle of line. A line is the beginning and the end of everything. Without lines there would be no definitive space and level between objects. Lines provide stability and create a plane in which the eye can rest on when it looks at something.
